Socket use precautions

With the advent of the hot summer, the electricity consumption of various electrical appliances has gradually increased. But if it is not properly installed, it will become a "invisible bomb" buried in the wall. According to the relevant survey data of the Ministry of Public Security, in the past 10 years of fire accidents in China, fires caused by short-circuits such as power outlets, switches, and circuit breakers accounted for nearly 30% of the total, ranking first among all types of fires. Therefore, pay special attention to the precautions for the use of the socket.

First, pay attention to ten situations

1. The switch is improperly installed, especially the switch is installed on the flammable object, the sheath is scratched at the lead wire lead, so that the wire core is exposed or water vapor infiltrates, causing a short circuit, or an arc is generated when the switch is disconnected, causing a fire;

2. When the flammable gas used in the household leaks due to the leakage of the pipeline or the valve, and the flammable gas and the air are mixed to reach the explosion limit, opening or closing the electrical switch without the arc extinguishing device may cause a fire or explosion;

3. The wire ends of the flat or screw sockets or multi-eye sockets are insulated and stripped. When it is too long, the bare part causes a short circuit; when it is too short, the conductor is in poor contact, the contact resistance is too large, and the overheating causes a fire;

4, the power cord of the socket is used with a small cross section and the power used is too large, causing the wire to heat up and ignite;

5. The socket is pressed by flammable materials or the dust falls into the short circuit, or installed in a flammable and explosive dangerous place. When a plug is inserted or unplugged, a spark is generated to cause an explosion and fire;

6, the plug is not damaged in time, use the bare wire instead of the plug to use, causing a short circuit or spark, causing flammable materials to catch fire;

7. Some bedside switches are placed after use, and the switch hits the bed frame or the wall to damage the outer insulation layer, which may cause a short circuit;

8. The working voltage and working current of the lamp holder do not match the power of the socket used. It is overloaded for a long time, and if the temperature is too high, it will cause a fire;

9. During the process of installing the lamp holder, twist the lamp holder to make the wires twist together, or the exposed core is too much, and when it is scattered, it touches the other end and causes a short-circuit fire;

10. The switchboard is not in the box. When the fuse is blown, hot metal particles will splash and the lower combustibles will cause burning.
