ANRPC: Japan's earthquake has limited impact on global rubber

The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) said on Tuesday that the impact of the strong earthquake in Japan on global demand for rubber was limited because the factories of major companies such as Bridgestone and Michelin were not damaged.

According to Reuters, NRPC Secretary-General Djoko S. Damardjati stated in the statement, "A few automobile tire factories in northeastern Japan will stop production for several days and will not seriously affect global demand."

"If there is a slight impact, it will be short-lived."
