A few days ago, Coca-Cola Company adopted the newly developed bottle made of mixed plant material and recycled plastic in its sustainable product line, and plans to use this new package in 7 sub-brands such as Coca Cola, Diet Cola and Cola Zero. At present, Coca-Cola Company is the first to launch 200 million bottles of plant-based beverages in the UK market. The company will also successively introduce such environmentally friendly beverages in more than 20 countries around the world.
It is reported that Coca-Cola plans to use bottles made of plant-derived materials and recyclable PET plastic (polybutylene terephthalate) for all beverage bottles by 2020. The company used plastic recycling technology in 1991 and invested 15 million pounds in the first half of this year to build a plastic recycling facility in Lincolnshire, England, which will double the amount of plastics exported from the UK.
