It is usually thought that the grease filling amount of sealed SKF bearings should not exceed 50% of the internal space. The experiments of Shawki and Mokhtar indicate that the ball bearings are most suitable for 20% to 30%.
Grease has good adhesion, wear resistance, temperature resistance, rust resistance and lubricity; can improve high temperature oxidation resistance; delay aging; can dissolve carbon deposit; avoid metal chipping and oil contamination; Mechanical wear resistance, pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. The more grease is filled, the larger the friction torque is. The same filling amount; the friction torque of the sealed bearing is larger than that of the open bearing. The grease filling amount is equivalent to the bearing internal 60% of the volume of the space in the future; the friction torque is no longer significantly increased. This is because most of the grease in the open SKF bearing has been extruded; and the grease in the sealed bearing has also been lost. Followed by the addition of grease filling; SKF imported bearings temperature rise straight forward; the same filling amount; sealed bearing temperature rise is higher than open bearings.
