Collect energy through wireless signals to achieve a battery-free energy source

God says that there is light, and the world has light. But when we encountered no power in the mobile phone, when the community was powered off, even shouted three times: Want! Have! Electricity! Still can't get power, connect to the Internet.
Now the world really has the meaning of "I am connected, I am". Life is so difficult. In order to improve the battery life, our manufacturers only have two methods of open source or energy saving, but if there is a device, even if the battery is discarded, Can I connect to the Internet?
The University of Washington has developed a new type of communication method that connects the energy of wireless signals from radios, televisions, and air to a wireless connection through a batteryless Wi-Fi device.

We are already familiar with the term Internet of Things. The unified communication standard is the foundation of the future Internet of Things, and this requires a low-cost, high-efficiency communication method. The so-called Internet of Things can be realized quickly.
In the past, researchers have developed small devices that can rely on airborne radio waves to solve power problems in devices. Some devices can transmit information wirelessly, such as radio frequency chips on bus cards. These chips require a dedicated card reader to connect to the Internet and cannot be directly integrated into the already popular Wi-Fi network.

The device developed by the University of Washington solves the above problems. The device has only one antenna and one circuit, enabling zero-energy connection to Wi-Fi on mobile phones and computers. It works by using various RF signals in the house—television, radio, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks—as a source of power to convert these signals into electrical energy using antennas. Then the device can be connected to your computer, mobile phone and other devices.
Currently, the device can support a device with a maximum distance of 2 meters and a communication speed of 1 KB/sec. The researchers said that they plan to expand their performance to 20 meters and apply for a patent.
The emergence of this invention has pushed the Internet of Things to a broader perspective, as it can greatly reduce the dependence of various types of connected devices on batteries, and some can even abandon the battery directly. Moreover, it can be added to various existing items, such as sofas and cabinets, so that it can more accurately obtain the situation in the house and achieve a real global control of the home. In addition, it can also be added to smart products, such as smart watches, to achieve the function of no battery and network, the life is no longer a problem.
