4 Work content, requirements and procedures

4.1 welding machine

4.l.1 Welders must meet the current safety requirements specified in the relevant welder standards :

4.1.9 Safe use and maintenance of arc welders.

4.2 Welding cable

4.2.1 The soft cable used for the welding machine should adopt multiple strands of fine copper wire . The cross-section requirements should be selected according to the requirements of the cable standard for the welding machine according to the required ampacity and length of the welding.

4.2.2 The cable jacket must be complete, well-insulated, and flexible , and the insulation resistance must not be less than 1MΩ . When the cable jacket is damaged, it should be repaired in time.

4.2.3 The connection of the welding machine and welding clamp must use a flexible cable , and the length should not exceed 20-30m .

4.2.4 The entire wire shall be used for the cable of the welder , and there shall be no joint in the middle. When it is necessary to work long wires, it should be firmly connected with the connector connector , and the connection should be kept well insulated.

4.2.5 When the cable is to cross the road or passageway , protection measures such as protective sleeves must be taken . It is strictly prohibited to place on cylinders, acetylene generators or other containers and materials for flammable substances.

4.2.6 It is forbidden to use the metal structure, rails, pipes, heating facilities or other metal objects of the factory building as a welded wire and cable.

4.2.7 Prohibit the contact of welding cables with flammable materials such as oil and grease.

4.3 welding clamp

4.3.1 The welding clamp must have good insulation and heat insulation , and the handle must have a good insulation layer.

4.3.2 The conductive part of the welding clamp should be made of copper material. Welding clamp and welding cable connection should be simple and reliable , good contact.

4.3.3 When the electrode is located in the horizontal, 45 °, 90 ° direction, etc., the welding pliers should be able to clamp the electrode , and to ensure the replacement of the electrode is safe and convenient.
