Compressed air is injected into the pressure reducer by a high-pressure gas cylinder via a high pressure quick connector. The pressure reducer converts the input pressure to medium pressure and then enters the gas supply valve through the medium pressure quick connector. When a person wears a mask, under the negative pressure when inhaling the air supply valve, the clean air enters the person's lungs with a certain flow rate; when exhaling, the air supply valve stops supplying air, and the expired gas passes through the breather on the mask. discharge. This forms a complete breathing process.

For the common positive pressure air respirator, when used, open the valve of the gas cylinder, the air enters the mask through the pressure reducer, air supply valve and air guide tube for the personnel to breathe; the exhaled fly is discharged directly through the expired air valve. Because it does not require the handling and recycling of the exhalation fly, the structure is relatively simple compared to an oxygen breathing apparatus.

As technology advances, advanced air breathing apparatus adds many safety features. If the user forgets to open the cylinder valve after wearing the respirator, the user will be automatically notified with a low pressure alarm. At the end of use, when the air pressure reaches the limit pressure, an alarm is issued to warn the user that the expected use time is almost over.

Air respirator working time is generally 30 ~ 360 minutes, depending on the type of respirator, the maximum limit of protection time is different. In general, air respirator protection is slightly shorter than oxygen respirator.

Air respirator is mainly used by firefighters and relevant personnel to conduct fire source investigation, fire extinguishing, disaster relief, rescue and support in the handling of fire, hazardous material leakage, delay, and lack of oxygen.
