4. Environmental protection and improvement of operating environment
Protecting the planet and improving the operating environment of the factory itself is an unshirkable responsibility for the company. With the continuous advancement of technology, modern machine tools are no longer a monster full of noise and steel shreds, but an embodiment of safety, cleanliness and high technology. The manipulator is no longer full of oil, but must master cutting-edge knowledge such as computers and networks.
At present, manufacturers are mainly concerned with reducing the use of cutting fluid and power consumption, extending the service life of tools, not using and discharging harmful substances, controlling noise and dust. There are two types of cutting fluid usage, one is the “dry cutting†machining method without using cutting fluid; the other is the “semi-dry cutting†machining method using a small amount of cutting fluid.
“Dry cutting†has less load on the environment, but because it is in a non-lubricated state, the temperature rise becomes a problem. For this reason, some manufacturers use cutting tools with high heat resistance and put in a tool material with low friction coefficient. . Recently, MQL cutting methods using a small amount of lubricating oil have attracted attention. It turns the lubricant into a mist and sprays it onto the cutting point. The lubricant uses a biodegradable vegetable oil.
Japan Mori Seiki Co., Ltd. exhibited the "NH5000 Series" horizontal machining center, which consumes only 4.91 ml of oil per hour, which is equivalent to 1/5 of the previous models; power consumption is also greatly reduced.
