Recently, the evaluation results of the 2015 Henan Science and Technology Awards were announced. The project of “Development and Application of Superhard Abrasives for Precision Cutting of Key Parts in the Optical and Electronic Industry†undertaken by Sanmao (Zhengzhou Abrasives Grinding Research Institute Co., Ltd.) Won the first prize of Henan Science and Technology Progress Award. The project has developed nine types of high-precision ultra-thin and ultra-hard material cutting wheels through a series of key technologies such as R&D, precision and high-efficiency molding technology and micro-stress sintering technology. It has been appraised by the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology. The overall technical achievements are at the international advanced level. The product has the characteristics of ultra-thin thickness, high dimensional accuracy, good rigidity and high strength. It is mainly used for high-speed, high-efficiency and high-precision cutting of key parts such as optical and electronic industry gratings and semiconductor packaging devices. Its cutting quality fully meets the workpiece. Process requirements, the processing efficiency, durability and service life of the grinding wheel are close to or reach the level of similar foreign products. In addition, during the project period, 4 invention patents were granted and 7 utility model patents were authorized; 1 national standard, 1 industry standard and 2 enterprise standards were formulated.
The achievements of this project not only ended the history of dependence on imports of such products in China, but also played an exemplary role in the adjustment of product structure of superhard material abrasives industry, guiding the development of China's superhard material abrasives industry to high speed, high efficiency and precision manufacturing. It is of great significance.
