Therefore, when grinding is about to be completed, light milling should not be performed in order to eliminate errors.

After the abrasive grain is blunt, the grinding force also increases, causing the abrasive grain to break or fall off, re-exposing a sharp edge, this feature is called "self-sharpening". Self-sharpening enables grinding to proceed normally for a certain period of time. However, after a certain working time, manual dressing should be performed to prevent vibration, noise, and damage to the surface quality of the workpiece due to increased grinding force.

Because the grinding wheel itself has high hardness and heat resistance, grinding can process high hardness materials such as hardened steel and hard alloy.
