According to the statistics of China Polyurethane Industry Association, the annual output of polyurethane in the past 10 years has increased by about 11.8%, and the current annual output has reached more than 7 million tons, accounting for nearly 40% of the global total.
At present, China has formed a complete production system of polyurethane raw materials and downstream products. Not only the production of polyurethane foam, polyurethane elastomer and polyurethane synthetic leather pulp ranks first in the world, but also a major exporter of various polyurethane products. China has built a number of polyurethane industry clusters in the Yangtze River Delta, the Yellow River Delta, the Bohai Rim, the Pearl River Delta, the Northeast, and the Southwest. It has formed a pattern of raw material production and downstream product processing led by leading enterprises and many small and medium-sized enterprises.
In the past 10 years, China's polyurethane industry has continued to promote industrial upgrading, expand the production scale of specialized raw materials and products; vigorously develop scientific and technological innovation, strengthen research and development of safe and environmentally friendly production technologies, replace environmentally friendly products, and save energy, reduce emissions, recycle resources, etc. The research and development capability has reached a new level; the products have been developed to be refined, functionalized and high-performance, and the application fields have been further expanded.
