Outdated production capacity eliminated tasks completed

From the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the 25th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has learned that the inter-departmental coordination group for elimination of outdated production capacity recently conducted inspections and assessments on the elimination of backward production capacity in all provinces, cities, and districts in the country in 2011. The assessment showed that the elimination of backward production capacity targets and tasks across the country was fully completed in 2011.

Among them, a total of 39.92 million tons of obsolete ironmaking production capacity, 28.46 million tons of steelmaking, 2006.000 tons of coke, 2.227 million tons of ferroalloy, 1.519 million tons of calcium carbide, 63.39 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, 425,000 tons of copper smelting, and 616,000 tons of lead smelting were eliminated across the country. Tons, zinc smelting 338,000 tons, cement 154.97 million tons, plate glass 30.41 million weight boxes, paper 8.311 million tons, alcohol 487,000 tons, monosodium glutamate 84,000 tons, citric acid 35,500 tons, leather browning 4.88 million, printing and dyeing 186673 10,000 meters, 372,500 tons of chemical fiber, 48.7 million tons of coal, and 7.84 million kilowatts of electricity.

Allegedly, due to problems involving employee placement, asset mortgages, claims and debt disputes, and other issues, the main equipment for backward production capacity of the 26 companies has been shut down, but it has not been completely removed as required. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology requires that local governments should strengthen supervision, clarify responsibilities, ensure their irreversible production, and formulate work plans at the same time. When conditions are ripe, they will be immediately dismantled.
