Advantages of spraying electrostatic powder friction spray gun on complex parts

The use effect of the friction gun needs to be equipped with special friction powder. With the continuous improvement of powder production level, more and more powder manufacturers produce spray powder suitable for high-pressure gun and friction gun applications.

Spray powder is usually composed of the following three different sizes of powder particles:

Fine particles: below 20 microns

Medium particles: 20-45 microns

Coarse particles: above 45 microns

The difference in the different frictional electrostatic effects produced by particles of different sizes is obvious. When the smaller particles pass through the friction gun to rub the tube, they can obtain a larger contact friction effect and have a greater chance of collision with the tube wall. Therefore, the effect of friction charging can be quickly achieved. Medium particle powder is suitable for friction gun spray application.

Friction spray for smoother surface quality

Generally, the surface quality obtained by friction spraying is smoother and smoother than that of high-pressure electrostatic gun spraying, because the friction spraying powder will not generate electrostatic repulsion on the workpiece due to accumulation, which overcomes the resulting "orange peel effect". The "orange peel effect" of powder static electricity usually occurs in the following situations:

1. When the powder particles accumulate on the surface of the workpiece is too thick, the outer particles cannot be fully grounded, repel each other, and have a repelling effect on the powder particles that continue to be sprayed on the workpiece, affecting the powdering efficiency and surface quality. On the surface of the workpiece, there may be uneven surface or even blistering.

2. Too much powder may also cause a slight gap between the coating film and the surface of the workpiece, resulting in an orange peel surface.

3. High voltage static electricity is too high. When the high-voltage static of the acting powder is too high, it will also cause orange peel on the coating surface. The friction gun can avoid this phenomenon when spraying.

4, leveling imperfect curing process, curing an uneven temperature distribution in the furnace, the workpiece is not completely raised.

Precautions for friction gun spraying

1. When spraying, use the first friction gun to "spray" the sprayed workpiece to achieve the grounding effect of the workpiece. In this way, the workpiece can produce a similar effect of "preheating" and improve the powdering efficiency of subsequent spraying.

2. Adjust the spray angle between the spray gun and the workpiece to make the workpiece and the spray powder have the longest contact time. Try to make the sprayed powder and the workpiece has a larger contact time.

3. When spraying workpieces with deep grooves, two sets of guns can be used. The first group of guns sprays the inside of the deep tank at a close distance with a high powder output. Because the nozzle is close to the workpiece, the inside of the deep tank can be sprayed. The second group of spray guns is arranged far away from the workpiece, and sprays to the outside of the workpiece at a low powder output and low speed.

4. Avoid cross-spraying of spray guns. Cross-spraying of spray guns can not improve the spraying effect, but will cause chaotic spraying.
